Artist's Statement:
Having had a long interest in art and design, I recently completed a degree in design at Forth Valley College, where I gained a 'distinction'. I am particularly interested in textiles as a medium due to the vibrancy of colour that can best be achieved through textiles, especially wool and silks. I also enjoy the tactile quality of textiles and look to exploit this in my work. Much of my work involves bold use of colour and geometric shapes, often in pattern formation, as I see shapes to be 'the basic building blocks' for all designs, whether in nature or man-made, and feel that basic shapes best exploit the vibrancy of colour. I have exhibited in Scotland, England and France.
